Hook oriented music with a message of hope is what would best describe the song writing craft of the band. likeSTEPHEN writes in a contemporary vain that is clearly identifiable in today’s market. The songs are easy to remember and melodically simple. As life happens all around us, this unique ensemble draws on the influences of their experience and observations. With an emphasis on the “pro’s” rather than the “cons” likeSTEPHEN’s goal is to leave audiences focused on the positive, the hope and the longevity we all have within us.
The bands roots are firmly planted in faith and the songs speak to the hope that God can give a person…or the hope they have found in Him. They are fearless in their approach lyrically, unafraid to reference the complexity of disappointments one often finds in life, especially if they are living without the one who came to save them. As Jeremy put it “people can identify with pain, suffering, or sadness, much easier than celebration and joy. It is our job to show how to experience the emotions of joy and celebration in the midst of grief and confusion. We are inherently happy people, a group of individuals that have been through a lot of sad situations but still maintain our joy.”
In their debut single “She” (Scheduled release in April) the band has masterfully penned the chronicles of the everyday woman…the prayer for a purpose, the drive to get through another day, the hope in a destiny far beyond themselves, despite the mistakes of the past. “She” is interpreted musically with glaring melodic hooks, complimented by a plethora of guitar riffs and a strong foundation discovered in a rock solid rhythm section. This overall message makes likeSTEPHEN relevant in the present, while moving forward to a very bright future.
likeSTEPHEN is slated for their radio debut in mid April.
